Where and how do I submit a proposal?

In this article, we'll walk you through the process of signing up for Halo with the right account type and submitting a proposal to a request.

  1. Find the request you'd like to submit a proposal for.
  2. Click the Easy Apply button on the request to launch the signup popup.
  3. Enter your name, email address, and a unique password in the fields provided.

Note: If you already have a Corporate R&D or University Administrator account, you will not be able to click Easy Apply and may not see this button. If you've created the wrong account type, open a ticket here and we'll help you correct your account type.

4. Click the Create Account button to start the onboarding process.

Note: You can also sign up at any time by clicking the Join now button in the top right corner of the Halo website.

5. An email with a code will be sent to the email address you've provided. Enter the code to verify your account.

6. Choose a proposal submitter role that best matches your organizational affiliation. If in doubt, choose Researcher.

Users with Corporate R&D accounts and University Administrator accounts cannot submit proposals. You must choose Researcher, Startup, Supplier or Consultancy.

7. Click the Continue button.

8. Complete your profile by choosing your institution and adding relevant information, then click Complete Signup.

9. On the welcome screen, click the link that says "...or continue where you left off" to be taken to the proposal form for the request you were previously viewing.

Submit a proposal

1. If you signed up following the steps above, you'll automatically be taken to the proposal form. If not, navigate to the request you're interested in and click the Easy Apply button to launch the proposal form

2. Complete the fields and answer the questions in the proposal form.

Note: As long as your proposal has a title, the form will automatically save your work as you go. To return to your proposal later, click My Proposals in Halo's menu bar, select your proposal to open the preview panel, and click Edit proposal.

3. Review your proposal and verify that no required fields are incomplete (you'll also need to check the box to verify that the proposal does not include confidential information).

4. Click the Submit button to submit your proposal to the industry partner.

What's next?

  1. Once submitted, you can continue to edit your proposal: Clicking the My Proposals button in Halo's menu bar, select your proposal to open the preview panel, and click Edit proposal.
  2. You'll receive an email with more information about response timeframes once the industry partner begins reviewing proposals.
